Women's Own

Celebrating 90 years of Fellowship

Women's Own began in Serptember 1914 and has run continuously since then. The world has changed since Women's Own was born but the need for regular fellowship continues. Women's Own meet every Monday afternoon from September to June at 2.30pm in the Follett Hall.

"Our home grown talents find ample expression..."

Every meeting begins with a time of devotion, followed by a speaker - very often on a Christian topic. We enjoy slides, demonstrations, quizzes or an exhibition. For our current programme of events please click here.

Our home grown talents find ample expression in practical, creative, pastoral, culinary or artistic ways.

A cup of tea rounds off the afternoon in Christian Fellowship.

An offshoot of Women's Own has been a fortnightly 'Knit-In' when a samll group get together to knit and sew blankets together for charities or trim postage stamps in aid of the Leprosy Mission (needless to say, a cup of tea and much chat is also involved!).

"A warm welcome awaits "

We are not only self supporting, but aim to reach out to others in direct giving or in practical enterprises and naturally in our care and concern for one another.

A warm welcome awaits not only those from our church fellowship but also those who worship elsewhere or do not belong to any Christian group.

There are currently approximately 60 members, mostly women, but men are also welcome!
